Anything good movies coming out in August 2019?

Today, we at Buttery Popcorn Movies preview if there is actually a movie worth watching in theaters during August 2019. This is not movies that were released in June/July 2019 but we are talking about movies to be released in August 2019 and whether it’s worth it take make a trip to the movie theater.

This is what we have coming up in August 2019 (this is going to be a fairly short post compared to the others) ....

1) Hobbs and Shaw
*For the folks that are into action, this is the one to watch. As a brief preview, the plot wont be good but the action is guaranteed to be good. Bring the buttery popcorn and sit back to watch the action in this one. Keep your expectations to a minimum and you will be sure to walk out entertained.

2) Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
*If action isnt what is up your alley and you consider yourself a horror fan then this is the one to watch. This is based off of the book with the same title. To be honest, I'm not sure what to expect from this one and based off of some of previews you will definitely be jumping in your seat.

3) Brian Banks/Blinded by the Light/The Peanut Butter Falcon
*We finally come to the categories of movies that I appreciate the most - the ones that actually have a story to tell and a message to convey to the folks that watch the movie. Brian Banks is the story about a star football player who is falsely accused of rape, serves 6 years in jail, only to have his accuser confess that she made up the whole thing. Ultimately, this ends with his conviction being overturned but not after serving 6 years in jail.

*Blinged by the Light is about a Pakistani- British teen who experiences Bruce Springteen's music and from that point it begins to change his view on life. This movie, based of the previews, is about culture, youth, music and also the tug/pull of culture, youth. It will be interesting to see what message leaves with anyone decides to check it out.

*The Peanut Butter Falcon deals with an individual who is currently housed at a nursing home and has Down Syndrome. He decides to escape and movie goes into his escape and the adventures he has. I'm not sure what to make of this movie but it has the makings of a "fee-good" movie for sure. The message in this movie may leave viewers in tears but certainly has the makings of strong "feel-good" movie.

August 2019 does present some interesting movies. If you are into action, Hobbs & Shaw is the one to check out. If it is horror you are looking for the check out Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. If you want a movie with an actual story then you have a little bit more to choose from (Brian Banks/Blinded by the Light/The Peanut Butter Falcon). FYI, I did leave some movies off the list but these are the ones that were most interesting to us here at ButterPopcornMovies. Enjoy the August Movies!
